The Limitations of MagicJack Plus
MagicJack Plus is the latest of all VoIP based telephone service providers that has taken the industry by storm in no tome. This service comes from VocalTec Communications Limited, the company that is considered to be the pioneer of VoIP telephony by many experts. The product appeared in the market during the year 2008, and made substantial progress by providing exemplary service to consumers.
However, this was just the beginning of the journey for MagicJack, and there were some serious scopes for improvement. This older version depended completely on a computer for its application. The users were required to keep their computers on whenever they had to avail the low cost call service. There was no way to enjoy the service when there was no computer around. This problem limited the progress of the product, as it was a cumbersome process to follow. Moreover, the service made no sense for consumers who are not computer friendly. In addition to that, the typical problems of a computer based telephony system like call drops, static issues, and echoing were also there.
VocalTec was quick to react to the situation, and the advanced version called the MagicJack Plus was introduced in September 2011 after a long and extensive research and testing process. The new version has done exceedingly well to completely remove the problems associated with the previous version. Now it does not require any computer to use MagicJack Plus. The new version works through an Ethernet port or USB connected to a modem. This one change has certainly increased the acceptability of the product. The call quality related issues have also been completely taken care of.
